VE FAQs
1. What is ICF Virtual Education?
ICF Virtual Education (VE) is an educational delivery format where ICF coaches globally can come together to network, share and learn. VE sessions are offered in teleforum and/or webinar format. A bridge line number and/or webinar link will be provided with each VE session on the ICF Event Calendar. Please note that bridge line numbers may vary between VE sessions.
2. How can I attend a ICF Virtual Education session?
All ICF members may attend VE sessions at no charge. There is no limit on the number of sessions coaches may attend. No registration is needed for ICF members. Visit the ICF Event Calendar for bridge line and/or webinar details.
Non-ICF memberswho wish to attend a session should contact ICF Headquarters by e-mail at icfheadquarters@coachfederation.org or by phone at 888.423.3131 or +1.859.219.3580 one (1) business day prior to the session in order to acquire session participation information. Non-ICF members will be charged a fee of $25 USD to attend each VE session. Should a non-member decide to join the ICF in order to attend a VE session, they will receive a one time membership discount of $25 USD. View information on joining the ICF here.
3. Who pays for the telephone costs to join the monthly VE meetings?
ICF hosts the bridge line, and each person joining a session pays for their individual phone cost.
4. Are sessions recorded?
ICF VE sessions are normally recorded. Session recordings are posted to the Archived Calls page within three (3) business days. ICF members may access these recordings, which are currently only offered in a streaming audio format.
5. How can I get a copy of a speaker's presentation?
If a presentation is provided, it will be posted with a program listing on the ICF Event Calendar. Additionally, a copy of the presentation will be saved on the Archived Calls page following the presentation.
6. How can I get Continuing Coach Education Units (CCEUs) for VE sessions?
I) CCEUs for Live VE Sessions: The ICF grants one (1.0) Coaching Continuing Education Unit (CCEU) for every sixty (60) minutes of presentation time. The ICF Virtual Education policy states that personalized CCEUs certificates can only be granted to individuals who have participated in actual voice-to-voice, or live, Virtual Education program presentations. You must complete the VE CCEU certificate request form within 21 days to dowload your personalized CCEU certificate. To complete the request form, you will need two (2) passwords which are given out during each VE session and cannot be repeated for any reason. If you do not have both passwords, please see the instructions below for obtaining CCEU credit by listening to the Archived Calls.
We are pleased to announce that the ICF has developed a new Event Calendar to enhance your Virtual Education experience. As a result, there have been some slight changes in the CCEU certificate redemption process. To receive your personalized CCEU certificate for a live VE session in which you have attended:
- Visit the ICF Event Calendar within the next twenty-one (21) days of the VE program
- Locate the session you attended and click on the hyperlink for additional information
- An embedded window will appear with additional information related to the session
- Click on the final tab titled "CCEUs"
- Click on the link titled "Request VE CCEU certificate"
- Complete all of the required fields on the form including your name, email address, and ICF Membership ID #
- There is an optional survey so that you may provide the presenter(s) with your feedback
- Enter both CCEU passwords at the bottom of the request form
- Click "Submit and receive my certificate"
- Your personalized CCEU certificate will appear in .pdf format which you may print and save for your records
II) CCEUs for Recordings of VE Sessions: Recorded Virtual Education sessions are considered self-study for the purpose of renewing an ICF Credential. You may count up to six (6) hours of self-study toward the renewal of your ICF credential. Simply enter the name of the session in the self-study section of the credential application. You do not need to attach a certificate showing completion of a session. As an ICF member you have free access to the Archived Calls.
